چکیده

The pressure of hot QCD up to g 6 ln(1/g) The free energy density, or pressure, of QCD has at high temperatures an expansion in the coupling constant g, known so far up to order g 5. We compute here the last contribution which can be determined perturbatively, g 6 ln(1/g), by summing together results for the 4-loop vacuum energy densities of two different three-dimensional effective field theories. We also demonstrate that the inclusion of the new perturbative g 6 ln(1/g) terms, together with the so far unknown perturbative and non-perturbative g 6 terms, could potentially extend the applicability of the resummed coupling constant series down to surprisingly low temperatures.

Quark number susceptibilities of hot QCD up to g 6 ln g

The pressure of hot QCD has recently been determined to the last perturbatively computable order g 6 ln g by Kajantie et al. [1] using three-dimensional effective theories. A similar method is applied here to the pressure in the presence of small but non-vanishing quark chemical potentials, and the result is used to derive the quark number susceptibilities in the limit µ = 0. The diagonal quark...

The principles of minimal sensitivity (PMS) criterion is applied to the perturbative free energy density, or pressure, of hot QCD, which include the ∼ g s ln gs and part of the ∼ g 6 s terms. Applications are made separately to the shortand long-distance parts of the pressure. Comparison with the lattice results, at low temperatures, shows that the resultant “optimal” approximants are substanti...

Hot QCD equations of state and RHIC

We show how hot QCD equations of states can be adapted to make definite predictions for quark-gluon plasma at RHIC. We consider equations of state up to O(g) and O[g(ln(1/g)+ δ)]. Our method involves the extraction of equilibrium distribution functions for gluons and quarks from these equations of state by capturing the the interaction effects entirely in the effective chemical potentials. We f...
